Katie’s Answer

Your attitude to towards your job will be a big factor in determining if it is a "good job." I can tell you positive and negative things about every job I've worked. If I had only focused on the negative, I would have missed out on enjoying the more positive aspects of the job.

You also need to think about what you want out of a job to help you figure out what makes a job "good" for you. Do you want a job where you get to spend time outside being active or do you prefer being inside all day? Do you want a job that you have set hours and only have to work those hours or a job with more flexibility? Do you want a job where you work others or spend most of your day alone? By knowing what makes a job good for you, it will be easier for you to find a good job.

A good job for me is an indoor job preferably with a window, flexibility in my hours, and balance of time spent working with a team and working on my own. I also prefer a job with a short commute.

Katie recommends the following next steps:

Think about what would make a job good for you so that you can begin figuring out what type of job you want.

Shamecca’s Answer

Adison, think about what it is you want to do first. What are you passionate about? What are you good at? Think about that and then brainstorm about what it is you would like to do and put a plan in place to go after it.

Melissa’s Answer

Adison, if you give 110% and bring your best self to work, you can get a great job. You may have to start at something that is not what your future plans may contain, build your resume. Keep great grades at school, volunteer with the community, put your all into whatever you do and you will go far and get a great job, but note that every job is what you make of it. Remember life is short, enjoy and make the best of every moment. Good luck, I wish you the best.
