I agree with the answer above on SMART goals. Use the acronym to help write down a goal that will be achievable for you. I will add a little on top of that. Here are some general goal setting tips that I would give you:
- Don't limit yourself: set short, medium, and long term goals.
- Set goals that truly motivate you
- Write down your goals and put them in a place that you see often so you are reminded of what you're working toward
- Adjust goals as necessary to keep on track - don't feel like you are not able to adjust!
- Give yourself a reward when you reach a goal so you keep your motivation high!
There are three types of goals that you can write for yourself: PROCESS, PERFORMANCE, or OUTCOME goals.
Process: specific actions or processes of performing. I.e. Reading for 30 minutes before bed every night. Very controllable by the individual.
Performance: Based on personal standard. For example, wanting to receive an A on an exam. Somewhat controllable by the individual.
Outcome: Based on winning. For example, winning a sports event or race, getting a job, etc. These are more difficult to control because of other factors.
Hope this helps and good luck in writing down your goals!

Write down what you want to accomplish short term and long term. Remind yourself of what you want and be relentless until you achieve it! Who better to invest in you than you?

Hi Toni,
Setting goals is a great way to challenge yourself and motivate you to achieve wonderful things. Success isn't something you stumble upon, you have to work for it, and setting a goal is the first step on the road to success.
When planning out your goals, the first thing to do is think about what you really want to do. What do you enjoy? Where do you want to go? Be honest with yourself, REALLY consider your own interests. Remember, your personal goals are all about YOU. Once you have an idea of what you want to achieve, it's time to write out some S.M.A.R.T. goals for yourself.
Specific - Try to address "Who", "what", "When", "Where, and "Why" in your goal.
Measurable - How will you measure your success/How will you decide when you have reached your goal?
Attainable - How are you going to reach your goal? What do you need in order to be successful? Do you have access to everything you need?
Realistic - Are you realistically willing and able to do the work needed to reach this goal?
Timely - When do you plan on reaching your goal?
I hope this helps. Good luck!
