Joe’s Answer

Across all regions of the workforce, your salary (what you're paid) depends on your skills and experience. So, what you make depends on how long you've been performing your craft (how long you've been doing it ) , and the skills you've developed (what things can you do that others can't).

Joe recommends the following next steps:

Read about famous baseball players and their achievements
Find out what company makes your favorite games and find out more about them.

Nir’s Answer

Most senior software engineers make upwards of 100,000 (after a few years in the industry). However if you limit yourself to only working on baseball games you might find it really hard to find a job because that is very niche.

Jade’s Answer

I agree with the above answers! If you're interested in baseball statistics, I would recommend reading Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game by Michael Lewis (the movie is good too but not too math-y!). It also talks about baseball player salaries! Super interesting.
