Service Learning
I am a student at the University of South Florida and am looking for volunteer opportunities to satisfy my Service Learning Experience credit for my class. I am looking to do marketing volunteer work adding up to about 15 hours. Please let me know at your earliest convenience if there are any opportunities available. #volunteer #marketing

Start local! Now more than ever, we have a chance to make a lasting impact on our local communities and a lot of organizations need talents like yours. I encourage you to write down causes that you're passionate about and then go from there. For example: Do you love animals? You could reach out to your local animal shelter, explain your unique background, and offer to (just some ideas!):
1) Help curate content for their social media pages
2) Optimize their website
3) Or, develop a campaign for donations or adoptions.
People are always eager for help but sometimes don't publish job postings they don't know they need. Being proactive and offering up a unique idea that they will immediately benefit from will set you apart!

Hi Marissa,
In addition to Lauren's suggestion to check out volunteermatch.org, there are few ways to look into opportunities:
1) Check out what resources your school might have. At the University of South Florida, it looks like the Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement might have a useful listing: https://www.usf.edu/student-affairs/leadership-civic-engagement/civic-engagement/volunteer-opportunities.aspx
2) Check out your local chamber of commerce. The Tampa Bay Chamber has an annual nonprofit fair that features local nonprofit organizations that could be helpful to look into: https://www.tampabaychamber.com/Emerge/Events/Nonprofit-Volunteer-Fair.aspx
3) Check out your local United Way, which partners with local nonprofits. The United Way Suncoast has a listing of volunteer opportunities: https://www.volunteersuncoast.org/search?sort_c=&sort_o=&opportunity_id=&page=1
The best way to find out what could be a good fit for you is to contact the United Way or the local nonprofits listed on these sites, so that you can explore potential volunteer opportunities.

Hi Marissa! Great question. One of my favorite places to find volunteer opportunities is www.volunteermatch.org. You can search by skills/needs, and find lots of marketing opportunities (virtual and in person). Good luck!
