Hi Timothy,

I would say you need to follow people who are successful at making videos such as Baby Ariel. See what their formula was to becoming successful.

Hi Timothy,

Great question! Speaking as a digital marketer, deciding what kind of content to create for YouTube follows similar principles as any other marketing or business initiative:

  1. Think more precisely about what kind of audience you want to target with your videos. "Kids' hobbies" is still pretty broad. Think age range, activity type (educational? outdoorsy? musical?). The more specific the better (you will see why in the next item).
  2. Next, think about the typical life of your target audience. What are their favorite things to do – and then think about what gets in the way from them having the best time. Basically, you need to find a problem you want to solve through your videos.
  3. Brainstorm video topics! Just start a list and dump all your ideas in a doc. The more the merrier. Get creative. You really have to put yourself in your audience's shoes and think about what kind of content they are looking for.
  4. Create the video! Quality is important. You want them to keep coming back to your YouTube channel - the topic of your channel needs to be compelling and the videos high quality, to provide them with a great user experience
  5. Upload your video and promote it so your audience will see it! There's a bunch of different ways to do this, off the top of my head, you can do a pay-per-click or pay per view campaign to promote your video, partner with a more popular channel to create content and get their followers to watch your video and refer to your channel, and promote your video on other social media platforms.
