This gives you customer services skills, time management, and exposes you to many different computer and office hardware/software. All these skills will carry you forward in any position you may chose to do in the future,
The best thing about joining office administration is that you can see what other departments do within the organization. Which in turn opens doors you may have never even know where there.

As for actual benefits from your college (as all offer different things) that would take a bit of research, look at job descriptions posted on the website and talk to people already in the positions.

Go to the office administration office and talk to some one about the qualifications needed and what they get out it from working there.
Look on Linked to find current and past people who are apart of that department, ask questions.

This type of role gives you greater overall insight into a business and how various functions work together within in. If you decide to commit to this career path, you have options to work in an administrative capacity across various industries. I.e many of the skills you learn within admin roles are transferable to other admin roles, in another businesses.

If you're a naturally organised individual who enjoys routine and helping others, this will be a rewarding role for you.

Joining office administration will benefit you helping with your organizational skills and giving you insight to the working of educational departments. This will also help you to connect to the influencers for your future. Many of the opportunities that you will have in your future are dependent on the groups that you join and their sphere of influence.
