Hi Karly! Great question -- and believe it or not, putting together a resume can be a lot of fun because it makes you think about what you have done and what you would like to do -- no matter how much experience you have.
I would actually encourage you to think about the question differently: not so much what skills are good to have on a resume, but what skills do you have that are needed for the jobs you want or are interested in? And how can you say this in a way that isn't just "I have good computer skills" or "I have good writing skills?"
For example, for someone with my job, the position description may say that the person needs to be able to use a specific kind of software. If I don't know the software, I'm out of luck. But if I can show that I can lean new things quickly, that becomes a skill.
Other things that you can show in a resume are:
If you can complete a task on time and correctly, the first time, with little supervision
If you can deliver results like making money, saving money, or saving time
If you can lead a group of people towards an objective (like leading a club or managing a big project or club at work or school)
Also, it's a good idea to have friends, family, teachers, or advisors look over your resume once you've written it. Best o luck!

Hi there. I am an Independent Career Counselor/Employment Coach with 15+ years experience in owning my own staffing firm. My earlier background includes 5 yrs as a Sr. Corporate Recruiter for AIG Data Center. Employers considering resumes of young professionals are looking for a strong work ethic, resiliency, and very strong communications skills. Many millennials for short in these areas so if you can demonstrate these characteristics on your resume, cover letter, and email communication, it will make a big difference.
Think: What can I do for this company? NOT What do I want, what can this company give me. If you have any projects or accomplishments that demonstrate working at something or solving a problem over time, add it to your resume.
Caution - Be sure to check for grammar, spelling errors and typos before sending your resume to an employer.Good luck!

A professional environment can be any office, warehouse, school or university, non-profit, a government building, and engineering facility, and hospital etc. So there are many types of Professional Environments.
Question: What are good key strengths and skill to possess in professional environment?
First of all I would say what type of Professional environment are you considering? To be able to list your strengths and
skills you need to go back to your experience and list all the ones that you have. You didn't mention what you were really looking for in a profession so I will give you some of the strengths and skills that are asked for in various types of jobs and careers. Computer experience (word, excel, power point); Sales Rep.; Good Communicator and Writer; Manger of an office; Designer; Organizer; Work well with numbers; Data Entry; Good with children; Editing; etc. These are just a few skill and strength, so from these examples maybe you can think of the ones that you might have and can put under the Qualifications Area on your resume. It is important to note that when you are job hunting that you look at what they are asking for as far as qualification so that you can be a person with the skills that the company is looking for. It is important that you think about what skills do you have that will relate to the job that you are looking into. If you don't have the right computer skills that they are asking for then your resume will not be appropriate. Again, you must have an idea of your job goal and what you can bring to the company.
If you are in school in might be important for your to check in on the Career Center and see if they can be of help to you in your job search. Once you have a goal in mind then your job search will be a lot easier. you will know if you need more classes to upgrade your skills to get the job you want. Think about finding that Career Center or a Career Counselor, or even a Career class that would get you started. Classes at night in various cities offers classes that might help find a good job choice for you. Good Luck in your search.
