If I want to be a nurse would it be better to go into a nursing program or go into pre-med?

I want to take the shortest but best way. #graduate-school

Of course you are going to be better off with the nursing program. Actually, I am not sure if you could do it with a even pre-med program. Maybe you could be able to switch half way to a nursing program, but for sure you would waste time and money in the process.

I would not go into pre-med if you're not aiming to go to medical school. Nursing programs are tailored to help you prepare for that line of work -- and where overlaps exist, the program will take care of that. I'd not waste time/resources doing pre-med if that's not your goal. Instead, I'd look into maybe a 4-5 year BS/MS degrees that advances you further into nursing. It might be more worthwhile to chart your path to end up as a Nurse Practitioner or something along those lines if that's what you're looking for.
