Hi Angela, contact the organization you are interested in volunteering for and ask them what their requirements are for you to apply to be a volunteer. Some organizations have a minimum age requirement, if you're under 18 you may need your guardian/parent to sign a consent form. Also, there are different laws (based on your country and location) as to how long you can volunteer per day/week, and what tasks they can ask you to do that may be considered hazardous, unlike those who are 18 and older.
Some organizations may ask that you take a skills test or assist with duties that can be done by volunteers which may not be of interest to you directly - but you'll benefit from learning in the environment you hope to work in some day.

Volunteering has always been a great experience for me and the people I'm serving. If you're considering what organization to volunteer for/with, start with your local community. Once you find a few organizations that you feel passionately about, you can narrow down which one(s) you think you should spend your time with. Keep in mind that some organizations do have requirements - background check and time commitment. I hope this helps!

You can also explore volunteer opportunities posted by various organizations on websites like Volunteer Match (which includes several options for on-site and remote opportunities).
