The automotive business has lots of ups and downs based on market conditions. It also depends on what section in the automotive industry you are looking at. I have found even in the slow times if you are committed to finding opportunities you can find success. This applies to anything you do in life. The more you put in the more you will get out.

Choosing a shop which is busy is important. You should stay busy. When your busy, engaged and concentrating this career path becomes extremely rewarding. When its busy your gaining knowledge and experience. Stay clear of shops where there is a lack of work. A lack of work is a clear sign of a struggling business and your job is not secure.
