Often the track for becoming a higher level athlete begins in high school and club teams that occur during high school. These coaches often have the best networks to get you into higher level college programs. I found it helpful to go to ID camps, complete questionnaires and visit colleges. Some of the high level division one schools are the most helpful in working towards becoming a professional athlete. The reason to go to high school and college is to further your education because sports aren't guaranteed for life, they're just an extremely huge gift to be able to play as long as possible. You want to make sure you earn a degree and can get a job if sports don't work out in the end.
