Hello Regina,
The thought of college can seem to be overwhelming, however planning is the key to not only reducing the anxiety of college preparation but also puts you in a better position for moving forward. For starters create a list of areas or industries that you are interested in or have a passion for.
From that point start conducting research to gain a better understanding of the careers that are available within those areas and the how much education is required. For example certain areas of interest may require not only an undergraduate degree but a Masters or Doctoral degree. If you are still intrigued by what you discover about those industries or areas of interest. Start to research which colleges specialize in those areas.
Once you have created a new list of colleges that specialize in those areas determine which ones have the most to offer you as far as scholarship availability, curriculum, exposure, living quarters, overall tuition book/costs, location, etc.

College may sound scary, but rest assured its not that scary once you are there. Many people think of it as their best times of their lives, and I agree.
Some things to prepare yourself is talk to some friends of family about their experiences. You can also visit the universities before you start school to familiarize yourself. Once you are there you should join some clubs to meet people. These are some of my suggestions.
I hope this helps.
Best,
Herman
