The first thing that you will do is to get an undergraduate degree at a four year college. You can major in business here and it will give you a good basic understanding of business. Once you finish your undergraduate degree you will then have to take the LSAT and register in a three year law school. Here you will learn the basics of law and also be able to take electives in the area of law that you are interested in. Once you graduate from law school and pass the bar exam in the state in which you wish to practice then you can go to work in the specialty that you desire.
Good luck with your future in law - it is an exciting career choice.

I personally chose a degree in accounting because that degree at the time required me to take courses in all of the business degrees and to fully understand each business role. This was helpful because when I then went to law school and focused on business law, it was easy for me to understand all aspects of business.

Part of the first step is obtaining your bachelors degree. Most schools that offer business courses will offer pre-law courses as well, so you will going for your bachelors you can take a mixture of both classes. Personally I was a business major, focusing on Marketing, but ended up in law school and was able to use what I learned from my business courses to help me transition into a corporate environment as a lawyer instead of going the traditional law firm route.
I believe if you use your time and energy wisely you should be able to pursue both business and law at the same time. Good luck.
