How can you change a job into a career?

I've always wondered where the definitive change is between a job and a career. When do you know that you've settled into a career and not just a temporary job? Is it ever too late to find a new career? #career #jobs

Great question! The best way to change a job into a career is to begin adding more skill sets and be willing to grow "professionally". for example a sales person might join toastmaster to add public speaking to their ability to reach a larger number of potential clients, or develop their writing skills to start a blog to reach a broader group or gain an audience and add credibility. They might, attend professional sales training classes to strengthen and expand their sales ability. Every job has skill sets that increase your value to the company you work for and the broader field you work in. Never to late to move into a new career field. The more skill sets and willingness to grow and expand your mindset the more options open up to you. I personally have 20+ skill sets and have changed careers several times. My biggest career move was becoming self employed.

You will know you have settled into a career when there is a career path in the organisation you work in. Most solid organisations will always create career growth and development for their employees and this gives employees the opportunity to follow a career path within the organisation through training and development.
And to your other question. It is never too late to change a career path depending on your desire and available opportunities.
