Estelle’s Answer

Law school requires an enormous amount of reading and absorbing information as well as writing in depth essays and compositions. If you enjoy these things along with philosophy, ethics, and political science, then law school should be right up your alley. Any field of study that you enjoy should be challenging but won't be too difficult to master. Good luck!

The first year is difficult. It is a different kind of reading than you experience in college. There is typically only one or maybe two tests a semester so the exams cover an enormous amount of material. I tell people it is like drinking from a fire hydrant. The material is interesting. I recommend the book 1L to persons considering law school. By the second year, you know how to study so the year doesn't seem as difficult. Many of the subjects are one semester by that point instead of a year. You can pick classes that you find interesting. By the third year, you have likely done an internship and really know how to glean the important parts of the cases.

David’s Answer

Law school, is it actually difficult or not will depend on what kind of law school you are in, are you in a law school that focus in teaching by theoretical (all about books) or on field (go to court, field study, case study). I don't know about which school they are attend, are they attend a law school who focus in teaching their student in theoretical or on the field. Because each person learning habit is different, and before I went to apply for law school which even though the school I was attending have one, I did some research to see if I prefer going to a school that teaches theoretical or on the field. Being said it is also about you, your study habit, learning habit, and etc. Your family friend is complaining about the course load and etc. probably because they are over stressing themselves or putting too much course work load. I would say it is difficult or hard when I did it probably because I was prepare for it and I also break it down with my course load, workload, time, and more. There are classes in Law school requires a lot of reading, case study, know what law or theory to apply, and etc. which may cause you to be frustrated but once you pass through it you are all set. Those who are dedicated and determined will not complain about what they are going through from school if they are sure that is what they want to do because most people will fight through and complete what is needed.

Patrick’s Answer

I think most people do consider law school to very challenging and stressful relative to undergrad. Most law schools grade on a curve where only a small percentage of the class gets an A, and there is usually only one exam for the whole semester. So if one wants to have top grades, they need to be focused and diligent throughout the semester and study very hard for the final exam.
