Estelle’s Answer

I have been practicing medicine for 30 years. Yes. the years of training were well worth it, and I continue to learn every day at work. Especially with the unemployment rate climbing from the Covid 19 pandemic, I realize how very lucky health professionals are to not only have great and fulfilling jobs but to be on the front lines taking care of our communities.

Rachel’s Answer

Yes, being a doctor is worth the years in training. I think that it is the best job in the world. I plan to practice medicine for as many years as I can regardless of my financial circumstances. The relationship that you develop with patients would be hard to match in any other field.

Richard’s Answer

Yes! It is absolutely worth it. There are a lot of long hours studying in the library followed by long hours in the hospital, but it is a fulfilling career. There are so many opportunities after medical school... different specialties appeal to different individuals. Or you can follow a nonclinical route in research or even hospital administration.
