I majored in Spanish literature. My Spanish skills have helped me in medicine far more than biochem every did. Pick what interests you and will allow you to have a stellar GPA.

When you get to medical school, you may have a small head start during the first few weeks of the subject in which you majored.
I majored in biochemistry. However, by the end of your med school course in biochemistry (or neuroscience if that is what you choose) you and all your classmates will have the necessary information you need to succeed in further course work and eventually during your clinical rotations.

I agree with Richard completely. I also majored in biochemistry in college. It gave me a great science foundation and good study skills, but it only helped a little bit towards the medical school curriculum. Choose a major in college that you really enjoy instead of what will give you a step up once you get to med school.
Good luck!
