I can't tell you a specific percentage or ratio, of graduates that get jobs right out of school but read below for some overall advice.
Carpenters are in high demand! Now when it comes to construction their are Non-Union and Union Carpenters. Usually, if you have the opportunity to join the Union, they will provide you with training, as you will join the team as an apprentice and grow from there.
With Non-Union work, there might be less training but you will learn by working with other carpenters who are well experienced, and also some carpentry subcontractors have great training as well!
If I were you, start looking into the type of carpentry you want to get into. (Finish Carpentry, wood framing, metal framing, residential carpentry, commercial carpentry, restoration, etc.) and then start doing research on specific companies that provide those services.
