Dennis’s Answer

I think that orthopedic surgery is an excellent career choice, but any career choice in medicine is daunting and a huge sacrifice. ... For an orthopedic surgeon, there are four years of medical school, five years of residency and typically one year of fellowship training

Rachel’s Answer

Orthopedics is competitive and you will need to do well in medical school to be accepted into this residency. However, upon completion of the residency, you should have no problem whatsoever finding an excellent job. Benefits to ortho include a predictable schedule, variety of clinic and operating, and a good income.
