Richard’s Answer

I don't think I have ever seen a realistic medical show. Try to find opportunities to shadow physicians, PAs or other clinical providers for a more realistic idea of daily life in the medical field.

Kei’s Answer

Hi Henry. I love TV shows or series about medical practitioners. While I cannot really say which ones are more realistic, you may want to consider watching The Good Doctor, The Resident, 9-1-1 (when they handle on the spot treatments).

You will see different scenarios in these TV shows and realize how each doctor handle every situation differently.

Hope that helps!

Kiah’s Answer

Hi Henry, this is a great question. I'm not in the medical field, so I don't know, but I've seen lots of videos of "real doctors" reacting to doctor dramas on YouTube, so you might want to check those out. In GENERAL everything on TV is much more dramatic than real life, the add a lot of drama and especially romance to the workplace in order to make it interesting for viewers.

Estelle’s Answer

TV shows are definitely for entertainment....I have never seen one that was particularly accurate. Some are very entertaining, but not at all reality based. I assume detective/police shows are equally dramatized.

Carlos’s Answer

Good question. Honestly I believe that any TV show like The Doctors, Dr. Drew, Dr. Phil aren't very informative or accurate. They are produced by hollywood studios and they have there own agenda which is to have viewers tune in for ratings and so commercials can be advertised in order for both the studio and products make money. I would take the advice they give with a grain of salt.

I have seen the Doctors give advice for something and then Dr. Drew give a totally different response. I would stick to actual factual medical science and your actual physician for more accurate answers, hopefully this helps you out Henry.
