Rachel’s Answer

Absolutely you can be a doctor if you are shaky. Many physicians don't have to have hand-eye coordination or any technical skills to practice their craft. I would think twice prior to pursuing a career in surgery.

Richard’s Answer

Sure! Just pick a specialty that isn't procedure oriented. Consider internal medicine or its subspecialties, psychiatry, pediatrics or radiology.

Estelle’s Answer

Henry,
You will feel less clumsy and shaky as you gain confidence and skills. Medical school takes 4 years and residency another 3-6 years. If you still feel shaky in medical school, pick a specialty that does not require fine motor skills. Pathologists, for example, look at tissue samples under a microscope. Psychiatrists talk to patients without performing any procedures. There are lots of options available to you. Good luck!
