Estelle’s Answer

Basically, be a good babysitter. Be early, answer the phone whenever it goes off, and be understanding if he or she has additional responsibilities.

Rachel’s Answer

If you are babysitting the children of a doctor, you should be punctual. You cannot be late and you cannot no show. Otherwise, just try to be responsible with the children, keep them safe, and answer the phone when the doctor calls you from work to check on the kids.

Cinthya’s Answer

Be on time.

Expect there to be overtime as there may be emergencies the doctor will be at and run late.

Be flexible.

Follow the rules: snacks, tv shows, nap times.. etc.

Have your phone on in case the Dr. calls to check in. They have little free time.

Make sure to clean up after the kiddos and yourself.

Cinthya recommends the following next steps:

Ask if there anything specific that is expected or off limits for the kiddo

Valeria’s Answer

Hi! I was a care taker for the kids of a doctor during college. A couple of suggestions:
- very important to be on time! Their time is valuable.
-follow all/any instructions they give you. Often times they’ll provide you with a to-do list, or schedule for the day.

As with any babysitting job:
-be attentive to the kids! Avoid being on your phone & spend your time playing with them!
-try to encourage activities that promote creativity
-also make sure you can hear your phone in the event the parents call to check in!
-try to not leave a mess with all the activities you spend your day doing! I always aimed to leave their house as clean/cleaner than when I got there.

Good luck to you. I loved my time as a care taker and I hope you also find it enjoyable :)
