Accounting can absolutely be an international job. I work at Dell and we have accountants that travel all over the world. You can too!

Where would you like to live? West coast, east coast or somewhere in between? Big city or small town? In a mountain range or by the ocean?
With some career fields, you may need to uproot your life and move to an industry hub to find work. Accounting, however, tends to be a universal need. From farmers to software development companies, everyone could use the services of an accountant. This gives accountants a fair amount of flexibility when it comes to choosing where they want to settle down.

If that is your goal then definitely something accounting provides. Large multinational companies need internal auditors to go review their operations, which requires travel and have accounting functions in various locations that you could transfer to. Public accounting firms have offices all over the world and often find it hard to recruit for roles with heavy travel so if this is what you want then you would definitely stand out.
