Cynthia’s Answer

a wide range of answers is the right answer. depends on multiple factors. what job. what hours. what employer. how much experience. is it a crowded job market in your area or are there more openings than applicants there? or the opposite? what is changing in the field. what are your duties? do you supervise any other staff? work nights? inner city? rural? public funded hospital or private hosptial? university related teaching hospital? lots of residents and fellows? none? are you getting a RN BSN MSN or PhD? once you know all of those factors and more you might be able to figure out a range....but never more narrow than a range. this is true for all jobs. not just nurses.

know those variables and what your choices will be and you will get a bit more details. assume you enter at the lowest salary. then be happy when it's paying more than that.

Austin’s Answer

Really depends on education, years of experience and location. If you narrow down criteria with these you should be able to get a smaller range.

Estee’s Answer

It really all depends on your geographic location and years of experience- that's why it varies. A nurse in NY will have a higher salary compared to the nurse from Texas due to several factors and it is mainly due to the cost of living. Of course, factor in the years of experience. A new graduate would have a starting salary versus someone with 30 years of experience. Factor in also the shift and days you would be working. Night shift and weekends have extra few more dollars compared to day shift and weekdays.
