Julia’s Answer

My best friend was a horticulture major and currently a landscape designer in the Washington, D.C. area. For her, business is booming, and they're struggling to keep up. People are home and wanting to tackle home projects. Consultations/work takes place out doors and doesn't involve close contact, so they're able to stay working. The problem has been with their seasonal workers, who are largely stuck abroad due to closed borders. So, they are struggling to keep up with demand.

Mark’s Answer

It is a factor of state by state laws, for example Michigan just allowed the industry to reopen two weeks ago. But yes, when people can travel less, they focus on their homes more and landscaping is always a good answer for increasing property value and satisfaction. But to echo the answer above, labor is always an issue regardless of Covid, so there are always challenges the industry faces that are not related to Covid. I would suggest following on LinkedIn the major companies in the industry, they tend to post good articles about where its headed.
