Is it beneficial to study abroad in college?
I am considering majoring in Business Administration with a focus in Human Resources. I would love to study abroad in college, but it can be kind of expensive and I'm not sure if it would be worth spending the money. What are some of the benefits of studying abroad? What are some potential issues/problems? #college #business

Studying abroad is a wonderful experience with many benefits. You will get to see and experience another country and culture and perhaps learn a new language. You will also get the opportunity to experience a different style of education, discover new interests and activities and make life-long friends. Your experience will also be very attractive to graduate school admissions and/or future employers.
While you don't necessarily need a study-abroad experience to have a successful career, I think its a great opportunity for personal development and to learn and grow. Think of your interests - are you adventurous, independent and love to travel and explore? That should help determine if the cost is worthwhile to you. Good luck!

Studying abroad is a wonderful opportunity to learn about different cultures while gaining experience in your field of study. While it is not necessary for success, if you plan to work internationally or to communicate with international groups over the course of your career, this would be a great way to start building connections and experience. Good luck to you!

Studying abroad was personally one of the best experiences of my college career and it opened my eyes to new career paths that I don't think I would have identified without studying abroad. However there are costs associated with studying abroad that you should consider. Depending on where you are hoping to work in Business/HR, you may find a lot of value in going abroad.
Especially if your goal is to work for a multi-national company, studying abroad may be super beneficial. HR teams are often responsible for global initiatives and so having a global perspective from studying abroad may help you get your foot in the door. On the other hand, if you are hoping to work at a smaller company, one that is national or local, you may not find the study abroad experience as helpful as you may otherwise.
