Is having a major and a minor that are on different sides of the spectrum even possible/attainable?

I am a GED graduate but attended some college classes during my high school years and I am interested in a field pertaining to the human behaviors such as psychology or sociology but I also have several years experience in Sales and looking to continue in Business to expand my network base and begin a career. I am a single mother and don't have much, if any, to spend on college tuition and wondering if I should give up on following one of my passions in school because the stakes will not be in my favor. #parent

Hi Jennifer! Your background is a great foundation for coaching or training especially as an experienced, struggling single mom. You - "Been there!" "Done that!" I have a BA in Psychology, completed a 3 year coaching program 30 years later, and have experienced intensive and in depth personal growth training. U tube Mike Dooley and Kyle Cease and watch some of there videos. Read The Dream Manager by Matthew Kelly or google it (a whole new career field) The Association for Talent Development (ATD, formerly ASTD) is the world’s largest association dedicated to those who develop talent in organizations. google ATD. My point is get an HR Certification, take any certification programs offered by ATD, even use your sales experience working in an Employment Agency or a Temporary Service to ease your way into HR work. My daughter has 2 years of Jr college, was a struggling single mom with 3 kids. She started working p/t in a company as a clerk. 20 years later she has a position, same company, as an Employee Services Advocate and Coordinator. A new position which I had never heard of. My point - a world of struggling single moms are painfully in need of advocates and beacons of hope. You have a great start! Grow where you are planted! Read Make The Impossible Possible by William Strickland. His story is amazing! The best!
