Richard’s Answer
Radiology and pathology are good specialties for shy people. As a radiologist I interact with other physicians and patients during the day but it isn't emotionally exhausting like a clinic would be.
Reminds me of an old joke:
Do you know the difference between an introverted radiologist and an extroverted radiologist?
Introverted radiologist looks at his shoes when he talks to you and an extroverted radiologist looks at your shoes.

I would agree to participate in activities that get you out of your comfort zone. Try to lead a volunteer group, a campus event (virtually), a church or religious event, or any other activities that interests you. If you are looking to grow professionally, there are groups out there such as toastmasters. There are several more introvert specialties for physicians. You may want to check out pathology, radiology, or anesthesiology even though any profession is going to be what you make of it. All the best!

I like to think the opposite and participating in activities that pull you out of your comfort zone will make you less apprehensive/shy. Joing clbs/groups-- even a fraternity or sorority will get you involved more and offer relationships to make you feel more comfortable.

Radiology, pathology, and anesthesiology all require less patient interaction.
If you find yourself more shy around adults than kids, consider pediatrics.
I'll bet that you become less shy as you become more confident through college and medical school.
Toastmasters is a good organization to help with public speaking skills if you are interested.
