Yes, definitely you can go to college and double major or major in one subject and
minor in another. Just keep in mind that with either a second major or even with
a minor you may lengthen the time it will take to finish and graduate as you will
need to complete additional credits (units) required for not only your first major
but also for the additional areas of study.

Hello,

Yes, absolutely you can. However, it can increase the cost and time spent on your education. Depending on the majors and your career goals, it may not be worth it. If the two majors are closely related, some of the credits could overlap, which could bring down the extra cost a bit. I would suggest talking to your advisor and/or a career counselor to make sure that the degrees will increase your career options. If you are using or planning to use financial aid, it is important to speak with a financial aid advisor before making any changes to your major(s) as well. If your career field requires a graduate degree, the time and money spent in undergrad is even more important to consider. I hope this helps. Good luck :)

Stephanie’s Answer

Good afternoon, Based on personal knowledge of a young lady I know well, my answer is yes, it is possible. But it will also depend on how the two majors compliment each other. My daughter just completed her junior year of college and will graduate in December of this year! One semester early. She will graduate with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice. She has taken summer classes along the way and many 18 hour semesters, but she is determined and worked hard. She stayed focused on her plan and visited with advisors frequently along the way. Go to class and get to know your professors. Reach out to them with questions. She was recently accepted into an internship because her professor knew her and her work ethic. Best of luck to you as you finish up high school and go on to college!
