Start asking for reference letters. Often times people take long to write them and you end up missing your deadline. Get your reference letters now!

Hi Abigail,

Thanks for the question. The American Academy of Physician's Assistants has listed 5 steps on their website to help you get prepared. It is very informative and includes a list of schools you can choose from:

Derek’s Answer

Hi there,

Excellent queation. I'm currently applying for medical school and the path is similar. I would look for schools with strong pre-health programs. The classical path would be to obtain your Bachelor of Science in a biology relayed field in which you would complete specific pre requisite courses required by PA programs. I suggest attempting to do some research during your undergraduate program and shadowing/volunteering as much as possible. This will help you stand out when applying for PA school. Also, be sure to stay in contact with a pre-health advisor throughout your undergrad program as they will help guide you through the process and with applying. Good luck!
