Tobi David’s Answer

Dear Student,

Here comes the need to balance "interest" and "motivation" in the shadow of career objectives.

To love Science isn't enough reasons to pursue scientific career, it is better derived an intrinsic motivation towards the science studies to become successful eventually.

You really need to be motivated and studious as a Science Student, and practically define your career objectives in the world of Science. Oftentimes, Science take hardwork, commitment and dedication.

If you had any further questions/enquires or advice, don't hesitate to reach to CareeVillage. But to me, at your age, all you need to do is:

Tobi David recommends the following next steps:

Identify scientific careers in your area of interest.
Choose Science subjects with right alignments in your O'Level
Study hard the mathematics and those chosen Science subjects with aim of pursuing your career therein
Write your O'Level exams
And afterwards, I am sure you had get your path in your career objectives

Stephen’s Answer

First step isn't always finding what you like . . . it's about finding out what you DO NOT like.

For science, at your age, stick to the basics. Become well rounded, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics.

Cover all those 4 basics first . . . then revisit this topic.
Thank you comment icon I agree with stick to the basics - Biology, Chemistry, Physics, for now. You may also want to explore a science club or after school activities if you can to explore without the stress of grades. Clubs can also help see the "fun" side of science. Adele Suttle

Reid’s Answer

Generally when you really like something you will find a way to be successful in it - that goes for science as well. All you can do is try your best, continue to be eager to learn and ask questions, and pursue the things you enjoy. The success will follow.

Suhas’s Answer

When it comes to decision making skills and to have a go in your career, you definitely need to spend good amount of time and please do not rush. Speak with people of your interests, get to know yourself better, research a lot on what could help you if you take one particular decision and then you will land in a safe zone.

Have a clear set of objectives and guidelines before taking any decisions and always have a back up plan to support.
