Michael’s Answer

Many of the more successful recent business graduates I know took classes in computer coding. As Sean mentioned above, so much business across all industries is in some way tied back to technology. Whether it's marketing, finance, retail, even medicine....there will almost certainly be a strong technical/digital/online component to it.

Also, do not underestimate the value of being a clear and concise communicator. So many business majors focus on the technical side of business (eg, accounting, statistics, even marketing) and graduate very knowledgeable but poor communicators. All the knowledge in the world is only valuable if you can communicate it!

Sean’s Answer

The convergence of business and tech innovation are transforming global business. I would recommend you take some technology classes to better understand how technology (e.g. Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, cyber security...etc.) will shape the future business strategies, models and transform business service experiences. You can also take additional classes online via Coursera.

Hi Omar - I would recommend courses on Business Strategy, such as:
Competitive Advantage and Profitability
Strategic Positioning in Markets
The Strategy of Mergers & Acquisitions
Managing Supply Chain Threats & Opportunities
The Application of Game Theory to Business Strategy

Also you should look into courses in Accounting, Finance, Business Management & Administration, Marketing, Sales, and International Business.

Good luck!
