Jay’s Answer

Hello - Here are some of the best for CSI: George Washington U, DC; West Virginia U; UC, Riverside; Purdue.

Also, many local police departments offer a citizens police academy program that includes CSI; I went through the local program and really enjoyed it. It is a great way to see and learn from the people doing the work every day!
Thank you comment icon In middle school, I participated in an after school exploratory program based in crime scene background. They taught us a lot, but thank you for the suggestions! Rosie

Suddhasattwa’s Answer

Hi Rosie, are you looking for n your city itself?

Strayer University, Utica College

Actually, if you are early in your career then this is the right time because jobs at different levels require different educational credentials and training. Certificates, associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees in disciplines within crime scene investigation are offered in Massachusetts (in your state itself) and are applicable to a myriad of CSI jobs throughout the state and country.

Look for colleges that offers :
Evidence Technician
DNA Technician
Forensic DNA Science
Forensic and Fingerprint Science Examiner

As you have not mentioned your current education credential hence I am sharing various college level and university level program thru this webpage https://www.crime-scene-investigator.net/csi-training.html

But make a well-informed decision before enrolling on what you love to do today and if you can continue to pursue it as a career in future, what's more emerging is cybersecurity too so keep a blend of everything so that you can merge into any team the state/job requires you.

Iits a very interesting topic indeed, Good luck Rosie!

Suddhasattwa recommends the following next steps:

Stephanie’s Answer

My daughter is a student at West Virginia University and I've walked by a few of the "CSI houses" on campus. This isn't her major so I don't have a lot of first hand information, but I found the following on www.forensicscolleges.com. Based in Morgantown, West Virginia University offers an undergraduate degree in forensic and investigative sciences that includes areas of emphasis for forensic examiner, forensic biology or forensic chemistry and toxicology. In fact, dual degrees are suggested for some of these areas. A master’s degree also is available through the school and includes a research thesis as well as classes in forensics informatics and forensic statistics. The school is said to house one of the largest crime scene training complexes in the world. Both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees are accredited through the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC) of the AAFS.

Good luck!
Thank you comment icon I appreciate your help a ton! Is there anything at her college for a more analyitical side of forensics, for example maybe a froensic profiler or crime scene analyst? Rosie
