Is teaching the only thing you can do with an education degree?

Education wasn't my intended major when I first started applying to colleges. I'm confident I'll enjoy teaching, but was wondering if an education degree would be able to extend elsewhere. #educator #administration

This is a link to an article with many listings of options with a teaching degree. My degree allowed me to work in a library but if I wanted to be there at a higher level I needed the librarian training.

Teaching can have many specifics as far as an area of study or age groups. Be sure to check on what you want to pursue and get the right certification. For example, my elementary school degree did not cover my being able to teach students with special needs.

Hey Alexis,

Besides the obvious, there are other careers that you can have when you've studied education. Some jobs prefer education degrees for training positions. Depending on what kind of education you are studying, you may consider becoming an author or researcher in your field. Additionally, if you have another career that interests you, it may be advantageous to have any degree at all.
That being said, start searching job sites and exploring what you can do with your specific degree. You may be surprised to find that your options are open.
You can also consider using an education undergrad as a springboard to a higher degree in something else.
Good luck!
