What is the educational path for Occupational Therapists?

I have been interested for a while about occupational therapy. It seems as though this is a job where you can make a positive impact in someone s life. #occupational-therapy

Occupational Therapy is a combination of social emotional and physical health, where using scientific based modalities we work in a variety of settings, from community, schools, hospitals, rehab centers, skilled nursing, serving clients across the continuum of life from birth till end of life. It is a discipline that with its demands provides huge joy, creativity, and these days salaries are meaningful and allow for a good life. Hey Sarah


You have to get a Bachelor degree in an area that has a direct path toward applying to an OT program.


For example, many people do Psychology or Biology or some sort of science. I did my BS in Therapeutic Recreation.


Then you have to do a masters degree minimum to be able to sit the NBCOT exam and be certified to practice in the USA.
