Are there any scholarships or grants to assist in becoming a certified dog trainer?
I help rescue and foster dogs. I would love to become a trainer so that I could find more dogs "furever" homes. #animal-health #dog-rescue #dogs #dog-training #animal #career #college #career-counseling

I do not know of any scholarships for this, but there are scholarships for so many things -- it's just finding them that is key. Below might be another option...
I know our local trainers take on interns many times, as well as post entry level jobs over the summer. This might be a good way to start training and shadow a certified trainer.
I would contact some training centers in your area and see if they allow interns/have mentoring programs. This might be unpaid or paid, but originally, maybe you could just ask to shadow a trainer for a few days to make sure you like it.
If you are an intern and want to continue, I think some of the larger training centers will help you with obtaining certification ( financially and navigating how to do this).
