How can I find a good place to be a real estate agent?
I am an eighth grader and want to be a real estate agent. I want to know where the best places to sell real estate would be. Would it be in upcoming cities or the suburbs? Basically, where are the most people looking to buy or sell houses. #houses #home #real-estate

Hi Allison, it looks like you’ve got some great answers from real estate agents already! I am a real estate investor for 15 years, not an agent. But a few things I will mention. I’m sure you’re where you have to be 18 years old to get a license. So instead of focusing on where to do it. I would be looking at the why? Are you getting in it to make money, or to help people? it’s a very tough and competitive industry! But can be very rewarding if you have the dedication and commitment it takes to succeed!
I would start looking at market trends in your area first. I would read real estate blogs, etc. basically get all the information you can about the business side of it first. Then if you do decide to become an agent you will be ready with the knowledge of what it takes to be successful! Basically it’s a people business. You’re going to want to enjoy working with people. Good luck Allison, you can do this if it’s your dream!

You need to do some basic market studies online. It isn't difficult to figure out which markets/cities (possibly close to where you live) have a high demand. This means there are more buyers than sellers, homes are selling fast with multiple offers, local companies are hiring, etc. You should start out as an assistant for a busy and established broker/agent, and do what tasks they need you to do such as hosting open houses, assists in showing properties, odd office work such as data entry, even putting up and taking down for sale signs. You will learn a lot from them, and you also need to get your real estate license as well. Eventually you can have your own listings, and/or be a buyers agent. Be patient though, it usually takes several months or even over a year to start making much income.

hi there. thanks for you question.
first thing to do is finish high school and if possible community or four year college.
to be a real estate agent you need to get licensed and there are many courses to help you do that and there are also many other professions associated with real estate agent other than agent.
there are some useful resources available through the National Association of Realtors
https://www.nar.realtor/education/designations-and-certifications
and you can also look into getting information from the association of realtors in your home state.

Hello Allison, right now the West Coast and Rocky Mountain regions are still doing really well. Low inventory with strong demand. I've been in Texas now for over 5 years and we have been doing good, more of a stable market. Our prices although increasing haven't spiked as much as other high demand areas. Still somewhat affordable. Where ever you end up also consider the infrastructure, job base and so on.
