What an exciting career you are looking into! I have a few chef friends and some of the jobs they have held are working in a restaurant, run their own catering business, worked in a bakery, chef for an event hall, personal chef and teacher. You just have to find your passion within culinary and see what you love!

To begin with 'Food Entrepreneur' - This is one heck of a milestone to acheive , Where in you will be in charge of overseeing menus, a client’s dietary needs and personal tastes for your clients . Catering is also a similar profile of being food entrepreneur where you and your immediate team plans, directs, and manages catered events for an establishment or business.
Executive Chef Where you will be exploring & creating new recipes based on availability of ingredients depending on seasons .
Sous Chef also plays a prime role with executive chef in ordering the necessary food supplies and kitchen equipment purchase ,
While executive Chef builds a network of vendors.
Solely for an individual interested in 'Culinary arts' has lot to offer esp when you have the passion you will be the one to trend & display new gourmet

This profession has a wide array of options! Standard career placements are restaurants or banquets.

However, there are several other options in this field.
Such as:
Food critics including blogging
Personal chef (you could work for yourself or someone else)
Specialty Food Buyer
Craft Brewer
Research, Development and Test kitchens

Honestly there are infinite options. Find something that sparks your interest and do a Google dive into it. Some offer travel and entrepreneurship opportunities.

As with any major, there are several different career paths you could follow within culinary arts.

-Head Chef: This person would be responsible for overseeing everything going on in the kitchen and designing the menu. The average salary for this job is $50,000-$100,000 per year.

-Sous Chef: This person is second in charge in the kitchen, they hold authority over line cooks but are more hands-on than the head chef. The average salary ranges from $30,000-$50,000 per year.

-Private Chef: This type of chef will usually only work for one client, cooking all of their meals in their home for them every day. The average salary ranged from $40,000-$80,000 per year.

-Restaurant Manager: This person is in charge of monitoring everything that goes on in the restaurant outside of the kitchen. The average salary ranges from $30,000-$50,000 per year.

For degreed professionals, the employment landscape within the hospitality industry is vital and varied. Chefs can climb to prominent positions as supervisors and chef/managers within the kitchen, but management roles throughout the industry are also filled by professional chefs. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s would give you a solid trajectory toward any of these jobs.

I started my hospitality career working for a luxury hotel. Hotels provide the training and exposure to multiple careers in culinary as well with providing great benefits, which is hard to find in that industry.
