Richard’s Answer

In my field, radiology, proficient typing is helpful. We use a voice dictation system to generate our reports. Even with an error rate of only 1-2%, I am typing corrections on hundreds of reports every day.

Willy’s Answer

I believe when you enter into any healthcare field nowadays, you must have at least have some computer skills because all healthcare facilities are using computers, internet and even videoconferencing in patient care. So I believe at least you have an average computer skills and able to adapt these skills in your chosen career in healthcare. Good luck !

Dan’s Answer

In my opinion, you will have to be able to type well and at an average speed. This is a requirement for young physicians going forward as paper charting is few and far between.

Estelle’s Answer

Typing skills are like any other skills. The more you practice, then more fluidly you will type. There are no typing requirements. As Richard pointed out, dictation systems are available at the hospital, and this saves lots of time.
