Richard’s Answer

Although hazing is a violation of the law, people in college are still hazed sometimes. There are news stories every year about deaths from hazing. These hazing deaths are predominately from fraternities. You should report any and all instances of hazing that you observe.

Ian’s Answer

From my personal college experience, I Was very fortunate and able to make a lot of great friend through greek life. There was no hazing involved and majority of Greek life is trying to prevent that happen at the national level as well as working closely with the school greek life advisor. I was able to gain a lot of experience such as leadership, volunteer, advising and friendship. If you do join greek life, try to not only use it as a way to meet people but also try to step up and run for the leadership and make changes for the next generation of students. You can really grow and change other’s life positively! I hope this help, please let me know if you have any further question.

Riley’s Answer

This just depends on which fraternity you decide to join. I know hazing is a huge punishable act within our university system, but it does still happen sometimes. However, it is not something you should be worried about because the act of hazing has become much milder than the stories that your parents have probably told you. At my school, most of the fraternities stuck to pretty light things, like driving the older brothers around to different parties or playing bartender at the parties instead of enjoying yourself. There will surely be frats that do things much worse than this, but I would not use this as a reason to not rush because it is very unlikely that these boys would do some of the things that they used to.

Kiah’s Answer

Hi Henry, I don't personally know how prevalent hazing is, but you deserve 100% better than that. If a group wants to haze you in order to let you be a member, you don't have to take it; you can make friends and find people that will treat you with respect.
