Hello, Sumana.

You can start looking for inspiration from your lifestyle, which is about recording what you are doing or some landscape near to you. By editing your first short video, you might got more idea for writing script and direction what you really want.

As you want to learn more about writing, you can read some more books as a reference, it will improve your writing skills and get some ideas to unlock your creativity. For learning about video editing, you can start from easy softwares, for example, like iMovie, FinalCut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, Photoshop etc.

Glad to hear that you interested in filling making, if you wanting to extend your career in film, my suggestion is to find a film school to learn more about the professional skills or film-making knowledge.

During college, you could also find some internship programs related to video/film making, India got the famous 'Bollywood' films therefore you could be inspired by that, by exploring different type of videos or films from all the resources, then you could find your own style of making films.

This is my opinion, I hope this will help you to achieve your goal! Just do it and start practicing from now on! :)

I am interested in filmmaking as well. I think you need to focus on one perspective first. Too many things will mess you up. Filmmaking is all about story telling. Therefore, I suggest you to learn how to tell a story well first. Then, learn how to use other skills and perspective to help you tell the story. Practice is always matter. Do not worry about fail. Shoot some videos, tell the story, show to others, ask for feedbacks.
