Brooke’s Answer
Generally you will spend the first day getting settled and meeting people. Everyone is excited on move in day... friendly and eager to get to know each other. Hopefully you will learn a bit about your roommate(s). You will also want to spend some time making sure you know where things are on campus (dining hall, student store, etc). You will also meet your RA and get a sense of the rules. Move in day is exciting and hopefully you will meet some great friends!

I'd recommend visiting every building on campus on your own without a tour guide. Walk around, meet people, take pictures of flyers, see what amenities are on campus, and write down a list of groups and organizations that pique your interest. Get to know people in your suite and building. Try to introduce yourself to lots of people in your dorm building; a good friend could be waiting to be met just a few doors down!

You need to clean up everything to start unpacking. Try to make friends also.

Here are some ideas!
- Walk around your dorm building and knock on peoples' doors since everyone is in the same position trying to meet people and make friends.
- Go to the dining hall and don't be afraid to join a random group and sit down.
- It's always good to walk your classes so you know what buildings you're going to each day.
- Overall don't be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone since everyone is new to this experience.
Hope this helps!
