Do you believe accounting is a solid career to pursue/is it in high demand?

I do believe Accounting is a good choice for a degree and career. I started my career in Accounting, and have been able to move into jobs in IT and Finance (where I currently am). So, I think Accounting serves as a good Foundation, but you don't have to stay in it forever. The concepts that you learn in Accounting are critical to understanding many aspects of business, so they are useful in many different types of jobs.

Accounting is a good career option, you have many opportunities that you can cover into the organizations from a general accountant to a financial planner, controller, taxes, audit, etc. in any of them what you need is to be good prepared and have a solid technical skills to respond to the requirements of the different positions.

Accounting is an excellent career field. Businesses in all industries need accountants, so the demand is definitely there. Also, there are several areas of accounting to choose from (cost accounting, internal audit, external audit, etc.).
