Juan Carlos Barjuch,’s Answer

As long as you dedicate the necessary time for your studies not only to pass but to get good grades, Yes. The first years are foundation ones and typically loaded with a lot of Math and physics so you will have to study hard to get the GPA up to a decent level.

If you are really good at Math of Physics you be able to get an assistant teacher job and earn some money, or help your fellow students on the side by teaching them as well.

Good luck....

Yes you can definitely work, the first year is pretty relaxed and its all the basic courses. You can start off school and then take up a job to fit your schedule. Depending on how you are able to handle your studies you can decide how many hours you can put in a week. It's all a matter of how you can divide your time usefully.

Mario’s Answer

Ultimately it is your decision to work part time and make it to a fulltime student schedule. I worked part time my engineering school and work not only helps you with income but it might give you extra skills that are not learned thru school, as in real life experiences. As engineers we need people skills as we work in teams most of the time and you will learn to organize your time. Just be prepared to be late at the library or at Denny's studing for you papers and exams.
