What's a good college plan or career path for someone whose interested in both Biology and Psychology majors?

Hi I'm Alexis I'm currently a rising Junior whose interested in both Biology and Psychlogy. I believe that the mind and body and closely intertwined, yet u can't necessarily find a career path that combines the importance of both. I like biology because it has all of the medical background with evidence but then I'm also into the subjective counterpart psychology follows. I was thinking about being a double major..then to go psychopharmacology or neuroscience, something that has the medical works with psychology in it. Any tips or insight ? Thanks! #college #psychology #biology #career-path #careers #double-major #mind

Behavioral neuroscience, anatomy and neurobiology, clinical psychology, etc are perfect majors that put biology and psychology together. Most of these majors also fulfill your premedical requirements if you think about medical school.

Given your expressed interests, I would strongly recommend a graduate program in either Health Psychology or neuroscience! Medical school, if you have all of the requisite coursework (biochemistry, physicals, organic chemistry, etc.).

To learn more about Health Psychology, I would recommend going to the website of the American Psychological Association (www.apa.org) and going to the drop down menu for "divisions;" select "Health Psychology" from that drop down menu.

Most Health Psychology programs are Ph.D. level. There are just a few at the masters level. The school where I retired from has an excellent program for masters level students (University of the Sciences in Philadelphia: www.USciences.edu).

Good luck with your future.
