Hi Sabrina! I like Angela's answer; there are a lot of medical-related careers that you could pursue that would reduce back complications in the future. However, and I do not mean to hurt Angela's answer in any way, but I would not go with home care. My mother works in home health, and she is usually driving for over 40-50% of her day. This can be super harmful for your back, and she has developed problems in both her back and hips. I have scoliosis as well, and I've gone down the career path of a math teacher. I feel like this is a good mix, since I will be able to be on my feet and sitting at a desk. Overall, no matter what career you choose, make sure to stretch your body as much as possible in free time to prevent future complications. Hope this helps!

Richard’s Answer

I am a radiologist. The nurses that work in my department spend their day with patients getting diagnostic procedures. They receive the patient from either the day surgery unit or inpatient nursing unit, evaluate the patient and prepare the patient for the procedure. They administer sedation medications and monitor the patient for complications during the procedure. Finally they monitor the patient during the immediate recovery period and prepare the patient for the return to the day surgery unit or inpatient nursing unit.

You could also pursue an advanced degrees such as becoming a nurse practitioner or CRNA.
