Most medical specialties will utilize your people skills. Some more than others.
Pediatrics is a great field to pursue to interact with kids and their families. Other medical specialties with more patient interaction include Nursing (NP), Therapists, family medicine.

Hi Toluwanimi
Jovial people like to delve into
NURSING
PHYSIOTHERAPY
RADIOGRAPHY
ANATOMY
Since these disciplines involve interaction with patient
The little I know about medical school, jovial people delve into specialties like Obstetrics and Gynecology, Opthalmology, trauma.
But I advice you check your personality, research a lot and define what you want before going into any.

Thank you for the advice. I have recently been exploring emergency medicine because of the opportunity to interact with different people on a daily basis.

Please be reminded that medical professionals are engaged in practices. As a physician, you will be required to use all your interpersonal skills to extract information from your patients. That you will learn that most of the time the patient presents a different clinical picture than what is there. It is going to be up to you, as a medical practitioner to rule out and assess the situation and provide a remedy plan. This is the SOAP of medical history taking. Unless you are in emergency medical, when there is little time or patients is not responsive, your personalty will do fine. Best of luck.

Estelle’s Answer
If you want to develop long term physician-patient relationships, consider specialties with the highest patient interactions such as Internal medicine, Obstetrics-gynecology, Family practice, and Pediatrics.
If high patient volume interests you for high positive impact, then consider Emergency medicine or General surgery.
The areas that have markedly less patient interactions are Pathology, Anesthesia, and Radiology.
Hope these recommendations have some value in your decision making process.
Good luck to you!

Thank You, Estelle. The more I look at it, the more I think I'll go into emergency medicine or Internal medicine.

Can you go into a little more detail on why you suggested these areas? It might help the student make a more informed decision
