What is it like to work for the Smithsonian Museum?

I am asking, because I want to know more about the different tasks that are done by museum staff. #history #museum #smithsonian

Thank you comment icon I've never worked for the Smithsonian but I've been to many of them over the years as I live in Washington DC. It seems like a great atmosphere and culture. Good luck! Alan Miller
Thank you comment icon I have not worked at the Smithsonian either, however, they do have volunteer opportunities that might give you some insight into what it is like. https://transcription.si.edu/ David Hamilton

Alan’s Answer

I never worked at the Smithsonian but have visited many of them over the years as I live in Washington, DC. Most employees seem very nice with many having expertise in areas of the museum they support. The culture seems really good.

Alan recommends the following next steps:

I recommend looking on LinkedIn for people who work there and reach out to them. I'm sure they'll be happy to provide specific answers.
I recommend visiting the museums if you can.
