Nikolas:
Reading a lot on this subject most places rank California as the state that has the most demand for IT jobs, you have Silicon Valley and many other major cities. Refer to this post by IT World: https://www.infoworld.com/article/2606736/139789-Top-10-States-for-IT-Jobs.html#slide11. Personally being from Virginia area, living near Maryland and DC I would say this area, known by the acronym DMV, has the most jobs as you are combining two states and a district. You have a major Internet hub, many universities, large Federal and non-profit presence combined with an ever growing private sector IT base. I feel Silicon Valley does not have the diversity in IT jobs as the DMV does.

I firmly believe the next Silicon Valley is in Austin Texas and it will be known as Silicon Hills. A lot of the major IT companies in California are even moving to Austin. Take for example Elon Musk just relocated here and is building Tesla and SpaceX facilities here. Then you have Oracle opening a brand new IT center here. The sky is the limit. There is even a bunch of start ups if u do not wish to go the big corporate route.

Hi Nikolas,
Great question! I would say that IT is in demand in all 50 states, some more than others. For example, California has tons of demand for IT jobs, especially at startups and cutting-edge technology firms. However, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and the Northeast in general, also has lots of demand for IT jobs due to talent from top notch universities and the plethora of technology, banking, and pharmaceutical firms situated in the region. Other upcoming areas for IT, as far as I know, include Raleigh, North Carolina, and Austin, Texas.
Here are a few other resources for you. Hope this helps!

Your off to a great start! Python is a highly sought after skill, there is always a job out there for you. You have city's such as Austin TX and San Francisco that are tech hubs especially for start ups. Then you have most major cities such as New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Boston and Los Angeles that are always hiring. Long story short you can't really go wrong with IT in any city. Good luck!
