Paul V.’s Answer

Studying abroad is a GREAT thing to do! Why the rush to graduate? Take your time and do it right is what I say. I studied Portuguese at the Universidade de São Paulo in São Paulo, Brazil and Spanish at Forester Instituto International in San Jose, Costa Rica while I earned a Bachelor's in Education and a Master's in Linguistics. I also studied International Dispute Resolution at the Universidad de Granada in Andalucia, Spain while I was earning my Juris Doctor degree from law school. All three of those experiences have enriched my life in many ways. It's great to be able to understand and speak other languages than English. It can be very convenient when traveling or even in your home town bodega. I would say, go for it. Pick a country and/or a language you're interested in and enjoy yourself. Boa sorte! ¡Buena suerte! Good luck!

Maria Cristina’s Answer

Hi Natalie, I think studying abroad is a great idea. I did it twice during my college years one summer and one semester. It really open my perspective of other school models, learning methods. Obviously you met people from different parts not just the country you are visiting and I believe that also gives you and advantage in job looking specially it is a global company. If you don´t want to get behind in your curricula chose well the country so you don´t have problem with the language and you can take normal classes.

Hi Natalie! It is definitely a great idea to study abroad. You won't just be learning a new language or culture, but you will learn to see life with another perspective and even appreciate more the things you have. Best of luck!

Yolonda’s Answer

Hi Natalie! Studying abroad definitely doesn't affect your graduation time. I studied abroad twice in Dominican Republic and Belize and I graduated with my Bachelors degree in 3 years. There are several programs depending on your school. For example, I studied abroad during the winter session for 3 weeks. It is a lifetime experience that I would highly recommend. It changed my perspective on life in many ways.
